The Hansa Ship
The Hansa Ship embarked from Hamburg, Germany to Liverpool, England toward its destination New York on March 3, 1882. Many in Germany, including the Bruders Family, saw the ship as their only chance to a hopeful future.
A snapshot of a typical immigrant ship. Hundreds of families would board the ship with the dream of a “neu” opportunity. It is estimated that 765 passengers were on board the day the Bruders family started their voyage.
