Flessenow is a small village in northern Germany. Pictured is the neighborhood and home of the Bruders Family. The patriarch of the family, Heinrich W. T. Bruders, understood it was only a matter of time before his family would succumb to the famine and poverty. Heinrich made the decision to uproot their lives, leave what was familiar, and build a better future elsewhere.
